Major William Ernest Tickel California served 21 years with the U.S. Air Force. He enlisted at Fort Ord, California in October of 1947. He served three years as an enlisted man was was later commission as an officer. Major Tickel was a navigator/offensive weapons officer on B-29's B-36's and B-52s. He was served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired in October of 1968.

MM1 James Russell Tickle of South Carolina retired with 15 years service with the U.S. Navy. He served 14 years as an Auxiliary Equipment Techincian and 8 years as a Correctional Specialist. During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; 92 awards, Meritorious Unit Commendation; 2 awards, Vietnam Service Medal, 38 Cal. Expert Medal, Four Good Conduct Awards, Deterrent Patrol Pin, Sea Service Depolyment Ribbon, Enlisted Submarine Breast Insignia and Navy Achievement Medal.
