Tennessee

Colonel Joe Charles Roberson of Tennessee was
commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army
on August 18, 1967. After his first assignment with
the U.S. Army Training Center at Ft. Bliss, Texas,
he served in Vietnam with the Long Binh Post
Headquarters, site of Headquarters, U.S. Army
Command, Vietnam. For his service in Vietnam, he
was awarded the Bronze Star, U.S. Army Vietnam
Campaign Medal, and U.S. Army Vietnam Unit
Citation. Upon returning to the states, he served in
various staff and command positions and earned the
U.S Army Commendation Medal and Distinguished
Service Medal. After his command as Deputy
Commander, 30th Separate Armored Brigade,
Colonel Roberson retired on August 7, 1997 with
exactly 30 years service. He is the great grandson
of Frances E. "Fanny" Auxier and Henry
Jackson Roberson Sr.

 

West Virginia

U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jerry Edward Auxier
of West Virginia was killed in action at Quang Tin,
Republic of Vietnam on  July 29, 1968. SSgt
Auxier's name is engraved on the Vietnam
Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.

Robert Stanley Hurt
3rd Marine Division
FLSG, Alpha Motor R.S.H. Transport,
in PhuBai.
He served from
December 24, 1966 to April of 1969.
Robert is the grandson of
Maletus I. Auxier

Specialist 4th Class Vernon Eugene Auxier of West Virginia served in the U.S. Army from April 13, 1970 to January 11, 1972 with the Headquarters and Company A 66th Maintenance Battalion in Europe as a truck vehicle mechanic. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
