Thomas Jefferson Auxier
of
Johnson County, Kentucky

Thomas Jefferson Auxier was born on March 27, 1849.  He first marriage was to Jane Harrison, on December 31, 1868, the daughter of William and Susan Harrison. Family history states that Jane was a relative of William Henry Harrison, governor of the Indiana Territory and President of the United States. Jane died at the age of 27 leaving her husband and five small children, the youngest only six months old. Thomas and Jane were the parents of;

1. Hester Auxier who married George Price.
2. Lydia Angeline Auxier who married Rev. Nathaniel Griswold.
3. Malcolm Forest Auxier who died at the age of 25.
4. Lou Ellen Auxier who married Reece Jefferson Fuller.
5. Thomas Auxier who died four weeks after his mother.

Thomas Jefferson Auxier married for the second time to Martha Jane Spradlin, on March 4, 1879. She was the daughter of Evan Spradlin and Emma May. Her sister, Charlotte, married Joseph Decab Auxier.   Thomas and Martha were the parents of;

1. George Verne Auxier who married Gertrude Louise Kelly, the daughter of John Kelly and Sarah A. Auxier.
2. Frederick Auxier who died at the age of 4.
3. Grace Madacra Auxier who married Oscar Ellis Brammer.
4. Edward Everett Auxier who married Mildred Florence Smith.
