Samuel Auxier III
1825-1866

Samuel Auxier III was known as "Red Sam." He was a prominent man in business who possessed rare qualifications in that direction. He was engaged in timbering, merchandising, and farming. Those who knew him spoke of his mild and pleasant disposition. Even though living in the old home for a number of years after his father's second marriage, his stepmother said that during all that time he never gave her an unkind work. One of his business associates said of him that he was the most pleasant man he ever knew in business. No matter what the crosses, no unkind work ever escaped his lips. Surely this is a record worth leaving on the sands of time. Agnes Auxier - 1908
