Nancy Ann Auxier Brown
1782 - 1873

Nancy Auxier was a woman of beauty and intelligence. She was tall and slender with dark hair and eyes. She was well educated, for women in her era. Her parents sent her to school somewhere in the old settlements, probably Danville. It may be an exaggeration, but it has been told that she could repeat the entire Bible from memory. Nancy and her husband James Wallace Brown made their home in Morgan County, Kentucky. Agnes Auxier circa 1908
