Joseph Decab Auxier
1844 - 1915

Joseph D. Auxier lived and died in Bear Hollow. Like many of the Auxiers, he had a good memory and knew much concerning the family lineage. Mr. Auxier was long a prominent citizen of Johnson County, Kentucky. On January 6, 1868, he married Charlotte Spradlin, a daughter of Evan Spradlin and Emeline May. After his death, she lived the last few years of her life with her son Tobe, in the King Addition of Paintsville, Kentucky. Warden P. Auxier
