George Washington Auxier
1846-1913

George Washington Auxier married Mary Ann Barnes in Buchanan County, Missouri on June 16, 1870. She was the daughter of James Washington Barnes and Elizabeth Crowe. They were the parents of:

1. James Kirkpatrick Auxier who married Laura Giddens.
2. Thomas D. Auxier who married his cousin, Annie Auxier.
3. Jesse Howard Auxier who married Minnie Josephine Pritchett.
4. George Curtis Auxier who married Annie Edgar McQueen.
5. Robert L. Auxier who married Elsie.

Mary Ann Barnes, 1845-1935 the wife of George Washington Auxier and her granddaughter Lucy Auxier, the daughter of James Kirkpatrick Auxier. circa 1916 Mary Ann outlived her husband by 22 years. She outlived two of her sons who died tragically. Jesse was killed in a thrashing machine accident and George Curtis died when kicked in the chest by a mule.
