Dr. Travis Auxier

"For all these years, I have been saying I was the only veterinarian with the Auxier name in the entire family. I think I have been correct about that, but I have learned that I have been joined by another cousin who recently earned his D.V.M. for Auburn University (my alma mater) this spring." Travis Auxier has earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

"Our graduates are valued worldwide for their clinical training and hands-on experience prior to graduation," said Timothy Bossinger, dean of the college. "We are proud of the class of 2000 and we look forward to their future success as they begin their careers as veterinarians."

The veterinary program at Auburn University is the oldest in the south and has been a continuous program since 1892. More than 5,200 doctors of veterinary medicine have graduated since the first degrees were officially awarded in 1909.

Travis is a graduate of Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky. He attended Georgetown University for three years and two years of pre-vet at the University of Kentucky before graduating from Auburn University in June, 2000. He is currently working with Dr. Joel Salyers at the Highland Veterinary Clinic in Paintsville, Kentucky.

He is the son of Leroy and Jane Blair Auxier of Hagerhill, Kentucky, the 3rd great grandson of Enoch Auxier and Mary Vanhoose and the 5th great grandson of Nathaniel Auxier and Constance Beck.
